Today: The Holy City
Passage: Rev 21: 2 NIV
2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. (emphasis added)
We believe in a real Heaven and a real hell, just like a real earth
We believe in a real God and real satan, just like real man
Man’s tendency is to believe what they see
Until that, however true it is, they find it difficult to believe
If a prophet of God had stood up days before 9/11 incident and spoken about it, people would have called him crazy
Today, as you speak about the second coming of Christ, people call you crazy
Noah was preaching about the flood and people did the same
He had his family with him. That was a great gain
Otherwise, no one was willing to listen
“Holiness” has become a scary word to many, even believers
So, someone created a “sin city” instead of a Holy City
The name “sin city” is much more popular than “Holy City”
People boldly name places and stores “sin city”
So they know what sin is, and what sin is not
Sometimes, Godless people will discern sin better than the people of God!
Doing sin and denying it is much worse than not believing in God
God wants to admit our failures so that He can help us
The most serious problem with the believers of today is not knowing who they are in God’s view, and as to who they should be
We prefer to live in an assumption than reality
People do not (want to) know the difference between
Love and lust, faith and fear, God and Gold
So, due to our own ignorance, we get cheated every day
We have a guide book, the Bible, but we are not familiar with it
In the Holy City of God mentioned in Rev 21 & 22, there is no temple, where people can go and worship (Rev 21:22)
The whole city is full of God and full of worship
You go to some of those shopping malls, you hear music going on all the time
You see many young people who cannot live without something in their ears all the time
In the Holy City of God, it is worship 24/7
Those who love worship will enjoy that City
When we truly worship God, we become more like Him
We become like the person whom we like and worship
“Worship God” is not an option, but a command (Rev 22:9)
It has to come from heart. Maintaining a posture of worship or doing an act/service of worship on Sunday does not mean, it comes from the heart
God does not accept anything that does not come from our heart (Is 29:13)
God hates lip service. He does not like people who call Him “Lord, Lord” all the time and does not do what He says (Mat 15:8, Mat 7:21-23)
He does not like churches that like to only have meetings all the time and does not reach out to the unsaved
It is time. God has given us His promises
As individuals, family and as a Church, let us be a Holy, Loving City, with walls and with gates open all the time so that the nations can come in and get blessed
The City of God has walls, but its gates are open
18 No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. (Is 60:18, NIV-emphasis added)
Be like a City of God and be a blessing out there, to many
BG
Prayer: Lord, help me to be a loving, holy person, praising and proclaiming your goodness to the nations as you want me and my family to be. Amen
