Today: Saved to recover the lost

Passage: Ps 57: 6-7 NIV

6 They spread a net for my feet— I was bowed down in distress.
They dug a pit in my path—but they have fallen into it themselves. Selah

7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. (emphasis added)

As David was on the run for his life, he made sure that he will be able to stabilize his heart. Having a heart which is steadfast, is the key to success

Satan failed miserably, in getting David to discouragement and depression

Satan could not stop David from rejoicing, praying or worshipping (1Thess 5:16-18)

Satan spread a net and a trap in the straight way David was walking; David did not go off the road or sin at this time

There was another time in David’s life when he had a reason to be very, very discouraged

1 Samuel 30: 3-6, NIV)

3 When David and his men came to Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. 4 So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. 5 David’s two wives had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. 6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God. (emphasis added)

David was not a stranger to struggles and trials in his life

He got used to it. He learned how to handle difficult circumstances

David found strength in the Lord; He asked the Lord, what to do next

That is the key (Ref: John 10:10)

David and his men were so tired, when they came home to Ziklag But when they needed rest, they had to go for another fight with the Amalekites, who were Israel’s enemy

King Saul had once kept the “best of Amalekites” for himself, instead of doing what the Lord had told him-to destroy the Amalekites

Now, what was fighting Saul is fighting with David

We can see that certain forces keep fighting generation after generation

“Davids” need to step up and stop those trends, by the power of God

Certain families go through series of financial struggles

Some families have people affected mentally, through generations

Someone need to get on their knees and deal with it, in prayer

When you identify a certain “trend” of devil’s work in a certain place, you can specifically pray about it

Don’t forget that the enemy will try to attack at that time

Spiritual warfare is real and is serious

When you do the ministry, you need much covering in prayer

I don’t know, to what extent some of you will agree with all these I am writing today

However, these are my observations. You have the freedom to agree with me or not. See what happened finally. A day & night fight was needed to get’em back!

17 David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled. 18 David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. 19 Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back. 1 Samuel 30: 17-19, NIV (emphasis added)

David recovered ALL that the enemy took away

Many things that you should be enjoying, your children and family should be enjoying, might have been taken away

Devil has kept many people captive. There may be members of your own household who are kept under satan’s possession

You need to PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens)

God will give it ALL back. Sometimes, you may need to fast and pray

Stay blessed

Prayer: Lord, help me to identify the areas where satan has taken away that which you want me to have, and to get them back. Thank you, Jesus. Amen
