Today: Living like a child of God
Passage: Ps 57: 10-11 NIV
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.(emphasis added)
As the psalmist decided to take his eyes off his enemies and his troubles and focus upon God and His goodness,
He was so much encouraged and excited
We see Christians spending lot of time in front of TV and internet
But the joy and the peace that comes from God is something unique, as you spend time with God
As people become less and less active physically and as they spend more time sitting and filling their eyes and ears with loud music and stuff,
We can only expect more people getting sick, day after day
We have big parks in each location but we don’t see much people out there
People are swallowed up into their i-phones and stuff like that
Once you get some gadget like that, you will automatically be tempted to use it almost every time
But it can also hurt. It can take away lot of precious time that could be use for lot of other, better things
Let us take control of the various technological devices and gadgets we have
Some times we see people in responsible positions unable to stop browsing their gadgets-not to check their e-mails but to browse on something else
Discipline is the key. Discipline can take us a long way
Coming back to the psalm-
David SEPERATED enough time to spend with God, even in the worst of his times
He could meditate on the goodness and mercy -the attributes of God
We take God for granted. We assume that God is responsible to be good and for giving us all that we need
God is loving; He is faithful
But He is also a thankful God
God is not greedy that we should praise or thank Him
But if we do not praise and thank God, we will be automatically giving praise and glory to the enemy of God
If you see the flag of a nation in front of a house or in a car, we assume that that person is proud of their nation
How proud are you, being a child of God and a citizen of heaven?
Our God is so much a loving God that he sends his love and faithfulness to us, all the time, from heaven (Ps 57: 3)
While I was in my fourth grade, I was in a Christian boarding school (Bethel) in Tiruvalla, Kerala (India), just for one year
I remember the times when my mom would come to see me and bring me a pen or some other gifts
You cherish those moments like anything
We are here on earth, away from heaven
When our loving heavenly father sends us His gifts of love and faithfulness, aren’t we excited?
In a world which is dangerous, where satan is going around like a lion, was it not God’s protection that kept us safe and sound all this time?
It is time to learn to be grateful!. It is time to have the love and faithfulness of God embedded in us
As a Christian, are we reliable for others?
Whether at home, work or at other places, a believer in Christ need to be loving, faithful, reliable and committed. Otherwise, we should not call ourselves a child of God anymore, unless we have some of His attributes in us
God bless you

Prayer: Lord, help me to live like a child of yours. Amen
