Today: Lay down our plans and pick up His

 Passage:  Isaiah 60: 11-12, 19 NIV

11 Your gates will always stand open, they will never be shut, day or night,
so that men may bring you the wealth of the nations—
their kings led in triumphal procession.

12 For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish;
19 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine

on  you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

Isaiah lived about 600 years before Christ’s earthly arrival in Bethlehem

Isaiah was prophesying about things that are yet to happen, as of today

Isaiah 60 and Rev 21 have many verses that are similar

Each page in the Bible is true, just as God of the Bible is true

That does not mean the majority of people will accept the truth of the Bible

More people are after myths than truth

People like to enjoy their life on earth and don’t want to think about the life after

Yet, the best way to enjoy life is to live God’s way

The other day, I was at a gas (petrol) station where I saw another mini van with its hood (bonnet) open. It was about 9:00 PM

A single mother was trying to add some oil into the engine, while kids were bothering her

Single parent is a very common scene in this blessed nation, even though it is not that common in many other parts of the world, much less “blessed”

God did not design families (to be) like that

In the City of God we can see people living in unity

When the Israelites were making the procession around Jericho, they did it like a one-man army. They did it together and according to the instruction of God

We need unity as well as doctrine. We need holiness as well as love

If we compromise one for another, it is no longer in the pattern God wanted it to be

People run away from family as well as churches. Some run away from life itself

There is a God’s way of doing things and a man’s way of doing things

If God told us to do something and we did it, then God will back us up

The end will be glorious, regardless of what(ever) we may go through

Noah did not get tired and stop what he was doing, just because he was discouraged by the people

God revealed mysteries of the future to him. God said “It will rain” and Noah just believed it

Those who looked at the majority, perished with the majority in the flood

Are we trying to do what the majority is doing?

Or, are we listening to God?

Instead of going after the nations and their riches,

God says, He will bring the nations and their riches to us, if we will stand with God

When God is our priority, that is what happens. We are not going after prosperity or miracles or healing. We are going after Christ. We need not be “prosperity-centered”, but “Christ-Centered”

16 You will drink the milk of nations and be nursed at royal breasts.
Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

17 Instead of bronze I will bring you gold, and silver in place of iron.
Instead of wood I will bring you bronze, and iron in place of stones.

I will make peace your governor and righteousness your ruler. (Isaiah 60: 16-17. NIV-emphasis added)

Hold on to God, and become a blessing to many

Lay down our plans and pick up His. Don’t mix

God bless

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your plans and purposes for me, because they are the best. Forgive me for making another plan and following it. Guide me in your path. Amen
