Today: You will be His witness
Passage: Acts 1: 8 NIV
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
After his resurrection, Jesus was speaking with the disciples
That is when he spoke the verses mentioned above
The disciples were more concerned about when Jesus was going to restore the kingdom to the Israelites
But Jesus told them instead not to worry about such things
He told them to wait in Jerusalem for the power of the Holy Spirit
As we saw yesterday, you need to spent time with Jesus, before going out as his witnesses
There are a good number of people out there witnessing for Jesus, who do not really know Jesus that well
And then there are people who know Jesus, who would not testify about him
That is why the church is not growing in many cases
Soon after Pentecost, we can see how the church was growing
We have to let God take over
Sometimes, our own stand may be preventing God from working
If we will only let God go ahead and stand not in His way…..
These people in the upper room spend ten days just praying
They sacrificed all their personal things
Without sacrifice, there is no success!
We have to step out of the boat, to walk on water
The comfort of sitting in the boat keeps many people from doing exploits for God
There are some people who believe too much in just praying and never getting up and doing something
Jesus was not like that
He did not spent all his life praying and fasting in one place
What is the use with power, if it is not put to use?
You need to pray for a sick person, to see if God has given you the gift of healing or not!
When the Holy Spirit comes upon a person, that person receives power
Now, the word of God should be in such a person. Daily meditation of the word is important
The Holy Spirit will work through the word we share with others
I have seen the power of the word as it is shared
I have seen people submitting to God, as if you are the president of the nation, speaking to them
There is great power and authority in the name of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit
Sometimes we will face situations that look impossible
Those are the times we should rejoice more, because those are the true opportunities for the child of God to see God’s name glorified
I have seen several occasions when somebody said “NO” and after prayer, it was just changed to “Yes”
That is the business of our Lord; changing “No” to “Yes”
The very reason the son of God appeared, was to destroy the devil’s work
(1 John 3:8)
God help you, to change many “NO” s in your life, to “YES”
God bless

Prayer: Lord, help me to truly have your power come upon me and to overcome every fear I have, in witnessing you. Amen
Your sincere prayers are requested for a young man by name Biju, in a serious medical condition, at Kochi, India. We have to see “No” become “Yes”
