Today: Live wisely

Passage: Eph 5:15-17 NIV

15Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.(emphasis added)

We have encouragement, command and warning in these verses

The word of God is serious. If the word says, “be very careful”, it means the same

If the word says, “Pray without ceasing”, it is not just a decoration

It is a declaration-a command

Because the enemy-devil is working day and night, as hard as he can

We are at war-and the alert level is set to the highest-it is red!

Lack of divine wisdom can get us into lot of trouble

We see many such foolish acts all around us

Once we take care of our part, God will help us with the rest

Faith is important, but wisdom is necessary

We cannot be foolish and blame it all on “faith”, when we did not do what we had to do

Time is the most precious commodity we have, at our disposal

God gave the same amount of time, 24 hrs per day, to every body- rich or poor, male or female, sinner or saint

No one can blame God for that

How we use our time, is what counts

With the same amount of time we have, many people achieved so much in life

And there are many, who just buried everything and waited for a “miracle”!

When God wants to do something for us, he is first going to see how we used our time and talents

If He finds that we used them correctly, He is going to give us more, calling us “good and faithful”

It says elsewhere, “those who do not work, should not eat”

The theology of work is very strong, in the Bible

God himself worked six days and showed us the example

We need to understand what the Lord’s will is, if we do not want to be called “fools” by the Lord

A good number of Christians do not have any idea, what the Lord’s will for them is

You see for yourselves, what it means

You have any idea?

If not, prayerfully take the Bible and read

God will speak to you

God has given you some special talents and skills that no one else has

It may be writing or praying or preaching

It may be for cleaning the rooms and for helping others

It may be teaching; it may be organizing

Who knows it better than you?

All you have to do is:

“Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”  (Eph 5: 14b, NIV)

God bless you

Prayer: Lord, I wasted so much of time doing nothing. I have been very unwise and did not care for what your will was, in my life. I want to be different from today, making use of every moment, doing something creative according to your will. So help me Lord. Amen
