Today: He (Jesus) passed the test!

Passage: Rom 8:1-2, 5-6 NIV

1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

6The mind of sinful man[e] is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;

Romans 8 is like the essence of the whole Bible

Many people call it in many different ways, giving that chapter much weight

When a person becomes “in Christ” there is a great transformation that happens (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Freedom from the slavery of sin is not a small thing

Once a person is in Christ, there is great liberty from the power of sin

The three stages of salvation:

Freedom from the penalty of sin, freedom from the power of sin and freedom from the presence of sin (saved, being saved, future glory)

(The past, present and future aspects of salvation)

When we  said “yes” to Jesus, we were liberated from the penalty of sin which is spiritual death, by the grace of God (Rom 8:1). That is justification

We are saved from the power of sin on a daily basis, through sanctification, the work of God’s mercy, in our everyday life

Then, we are waiting for the glorification of our body at Christ’s coming, when our body itself shall be transformed into a heavenly one (glorification)

It is interesting to study these points, but is of no use unless we see the application of these in our own lives

The transforming work of Christ in us, is a great miracle

“Miracle” because, no human can explain it

I remember this brother, who was very much against the gospel

When we used to visit his house about ten years back, we were told:

“You should not mention about God or spiritual things even accidentally”

We dealt very carefully

By the grace of God, a few months later, he became a very strong believer in Christ

Who else can do it other than God?

Every day, we can see the work of God in one way or other

If we are struggling with the issue of sin, run to Jesus

He has the answer, like no one else

Because Jesus conquered sin and death, He is qualified/certified to answer us and help us

No one can challenge Jesus about His qualification to help the sinner and provide salvation from sin

We know many people who are licensed/certified in their respective fields

They studied and took a test and passed the test, to be qualified

But there is one test that Jesus alone passed

That test took place on Calvary about 2000 years back

Let me tell you a Great news: He passed the test!

Otherwise, you and I would have no where to go, for the salvation of our souls!

Thank God for the great sacrifice on the cross

He (God) forgave us all our sins, 14having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.[d]

(Col 2: 13-15, NIV-emphasis added)

If Jesus became a public spectacle for us on the cross, we should not be ashamed or afraid to tell that news, to any body

In Jesus, we have healing for our Spirit, soul and body

Let the name of Jesus be glorified

Be blessed and be a blessing to some one today

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your saving work on the cross. Now, there is no need for me to struggle with the issue of sin, any more. I submit myself totally unto you. Amen
