Passage: 1 Timothy 4:15 NIV

16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Life and doctrine are like the two wings of a bird, for a believer
None of us is perfect; but that is no excuse for living in sin
God is at work in us, and he will bring that work to completion
Right now, we are being worked on, by God
We are his establishment, his investment
We are God’s workmanship, the work of his hands
When God made everything else by his word, he made man with his hand
God was more involved in man than in anything else
It was not when Jesus came down and lived among us that God got involved with us; he was very much involved in our creation. God made his hands “dirty” with the mud and then did the “CPR” kind of thing, blowing his life into our nostrils. He was willing to go that far, for you and for me!
And then, Jesus, in obedience to the call of heaven, came down and lived among us; suffered, died the worst kind of death but resurrected, and is still interceding for us in Heaven
If God made his hands “dirty” with the mud in creation, the body of Jesus was crushed like a wine in the wine-press in the re-creation process, to give us eternal life!
What more do we expect from God?
God proved his love and concern for us, through his very action, not just words!
And he gave us the living manna, the word of God, and the wine of the Holy Spirit, to live a healthy, victorious Christian life
Again, nothing is missing on the spiritual side, for anyone to blame God
He blessed us with ALL the spiritual blessings in the heavenly realm, ALL the word of God and sent the Holy Spirit of God in His fullness!
All that God expects from us, is our availability
He expects us to live up to his standard, in life and doctrine
From the beginning, God always wanted to have a living relationship with us, communicating constantly
God used to visit Adam and Eve on a daily basis, I believe
But Adam and Eve had other visitors as well, including the serpent
Why is the Church throwing “life and doctrine” behind and running after other things, in most cases?
This (life and doctrine) is little hard stuff
You preach about “grace” and keep silent about “truth”, there will be more people in the Church!
That is true; but where will Jesus be-Inside or outside the Church?
Who is the Architect, the builder, the owner of the Church?
If we build it in our own way, can we get the final approval from God?
We better follow the way God has it
A healthy Christian will have a healthy life and doctrine
Those are the essentials, not supplements, in our Christian life
Am I a perfect person in life and doctrine, while writing this?
No!
But I am in Christ and He is perfect. Christ is my perfection (Col 3:1, 27)
I am covered! Hope you too are (Jude 24)
God bless

Every time we meditate the word, allow the word to purge us
These days we have churches without walls, without any discipline
Grace overflows and the walls of truth have fallen?
But the garden/kingdom of the Lord-the Church, is different. It is enclosed with firm walls
