Today: The Mother connection
Passage: Isaiah 49:15 NIV
15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
The love of a mother is what God uses as an example of the greatest love
But God wants us to know that He loves us more than a mother
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
Is God putting the father’s love ahead of the mother’s?
Not at all
He never asked, “Can a father forget his child”, but God asked, “can a mother forget her child”
Recently, I heard that some one prayed, “Our mother in heaven”
Not mentioning about Mary, but about God
God says He is more than a mother
He is the source of our life. The word of God is the seed that gives us life
But His love and compassion far exceeds that of a mother
God, as a father is different from any other father in this world
I was reading a book “The cross cultural connection” by Duane Elmer
He mentions about the gift he brought for his wife on their first anniversary
He presented her a pair of snow tires for her car!
He did it with all the love and grace
He was waiting for that passionate hug and kiss and that “I love you so much”
Instead, he saw her crying-seriously
That carefully thought-about gift of him made no sense to her at all!
In the way he was brought up, he thought that would make a perfect gift
But for her, a perfume or a dress or some flowers would have made much more sense
In relation to God, we sometimes do things like that
We bring certain things to God that makes no sense to God
“No sense”, not because God is so specific about what we bring to him,
But because of how we bring something to him
He is more concerned about our attitude(s)
When our gifts come out of an obligation rather than love,
Stop right there.
Why am I giving this?
We can even say “I love you”, without meaning a fraction of it
We do that to God too often, because it will look too bad, if we keep our mouth shut in Church
Can we make more sense to God and to people around us?
God bless

What is more powerful than prayer?
Some may say, “Luck” is
I don’t believe it
Keep praying and you will see miracles
