Today: God wants some of your time

Passage: Daniel 10: 10-11 NIV

10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. 11 He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.

Ezekiel 2: 1-2 (NIV)  He said to me, “Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.” 2 As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

God spoke to these men, Daniel and Ezekiel

God spoke to many other people, in the O.T as well as in the N.T

Many of us feel “escaped” because God didn’t speak to us yet!

But chances are that God spoke, and we did not listen or we ignored it

God speaks primarily through His word

If we became a new creation through Christ, we are called by Christ

We are created for good works (Eph 2:10)

We are created to be Christ’s witnesses and Ambassadors

When a person becomes a child of God, he/she is not moving from a zone of “no commitment”, to “commitment”, but is moving from one commitment to another

Everybody is committed to something, whether they acknowledge it or not

When a person gets married, they move from a commitment to their parents (or who ever else they were committed to) to their spouse

If you don’t make that “switch”, you better make it ASAP, or should stay un married

I have heard about marriages that have been broken in days because the man was always in front of TV or computer or with friends, after marriage

They try to stay married to several things at one time, and that makes a mess!

God wants some personal time with those who are willing to stand for Him

He is saying, “I like to speak to you. You have some time for me?

If that call came from the president, won’t you rush to him?

If we don’t have time for God and for family, we better stop speaking God’s message to others

We are not just messengers; we are (part of) the message

As we speak, people look not only into their Bibles, but they also look at us

We need to be able to stand UP before God and men (people)

Paul’s message was what he received from the Lord (1 Cor 11:23)

Jesus received from the father, what to say and how to say the word (John 12:49)

Many of us can make it without God!

It is true that Jesus said, ” anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works” (John 14:12)

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. (NLT)

But He never meant doing things on our own, without any help from Him!

If we are dear to God like Daniel, God needs some time with us, for sure

He is looking for faithful, reliable people

When there are people out there who are committed to bad and destructive things in this world,

Why can’t we offer ourselves for constructive and good things?

If we don’t get involved in doing good things, we are get automatically committed to the bad

An idle mind is the devil’s workshop!

As I mentioned earlier, everybody is committed to something

What are we committed to?

God bless

Ezekiel was called by God, to stand up and speak to the Israelites in exile

“Standing up” may not sound like a big thing, but it is a big thing

We don’t see that many people who have the guts to stand up and stand for some principle, these days

If you ever see a person standing up for a principle, you rarely see them falling down

Only such people can make an impact on other’s lives.
