Today: Changing world; unchanging word
Passage: Mat 24:35 NIV
35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
The very earth under our feet will pass away!
What shall we do, if the very ground on which we stand disappears?
We better stand on something that is firm!
Let our feet be resting on the firm ground of God and his word!
We have watched strong winds blowing and strong trees surviving all those winds
We read about the two types of houses in the Bible, the one which was washed away and the other survived the storm
In both cases of the tree and the house that survived the storm, the common factor is a strong base, a strong grip on a strong ground
Even if a house is built very strong, if it is in a shallow foundation, it will not stand the attack!
I have seen many “committed” Christians, with shallow foundations
They are very prayerful and sincere, but don’t have the right foundation
They can easily be shaken by a “prophet” or almost anybody!
The word of God is the only sure thing that cannot change, when everything else changes
There are two things we should watch:
1. False doctrines that are coming up like mushrooms
2. Various winds and seasons in life, like various situations we go through
Both these can affect our life and even doctrine
Some people get caught up with some new teachings
Others change their stand, when they face some temptations or trials
That is why, our faith life need to be anchored in the word of God, and not in any emotions or just experience or a certain kind of teaching
There are denominations that teach that they are the only denomination that will be accepted in heaven!
That teaching is demonic!
The Bible does not say that
But the Bible does warn about people who teach such doctrines, in Galatians
We all know so many people who were saved from suicide and such situations through the word of God
Spread the word. Jesus changes people!
If you are a person going through some tough time because of the loss of a job, home or any other loss
Or, if you think something like that is approaching you
Trust in the Lord. Put your anchor in the Lord Jesus Christ
He will keep you strong and safe
I am writing from our own experience as a family
Many storms have we survived, by His grace; God is more than awesome! He is great!
Give your hand to Jesus, so that he can hold you
When He holds you, you can’t simply run away, unless you make a deliberate attempt to do so
God bless. Stay in the word, not in the world
Stay blessed!

For a weekend study:
22Be merciful to those who doubt; 23snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. 24To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. (Jude 1: 22-25 NIV)
Jer 23: 25-32 (NIV) – False prophets.. read below! (there are many true prophets of God as well1)
25 “I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’ 26 How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds? 27 They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their fathers forgot my name through Baal worship. 28 Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?” declares the LORD. 29 “Is not my word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?
30 “Therefore,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. 31 Yes,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, ‘The LORD declares.’ 32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” declares the LORD. “They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least,” declares the LORD.
25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]? (Mat 6: 25-27, NIV)
Paul’s theology on money is what we see in 1Timothy 6
Some eat to live; some eat to die.
Some dress to cover their body; some dress to reveal!
Once we set our priorities right and biblically, everything else will fall in the right place
Let us not be “possessive” about anything, except God
